Wayn Privacy Policy

1. Comprehensive Data Collection

We categorize the data we collect into three streams:

A. Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Registration: Full name, email, mobile number, and password.

  • Verification (Drivers): Government-issued IDs, driver’s license, vehicle registration, insurance, and background check results.

  • Payment Data: Credit card details or digital wallet info (processed via secure, PCI-compliant gateways).

  • User Content: Ratings, reviews, and feedback sent to our support team.

B. Information Collected During App Usage

  • Precise Location: * Riders: We track location from the time a ride is requested until it is completed. We may also collect location in the background if enabled to improve pickup speed.

    • Drivers: We track precise location at all times when the app is "Online" or "Available" to match trips and map routes.

  • Transaction Details: We record the "who, when, where, and how much" of every trip for safety and tax compliance.

  • Telematics (Drivers): We may collect data regarding braking, acceleration, and speed to promote road safety.

C. Technical & Log Data

  • Device Metadata: Device hardware model, IP address, operating system version, preferred language, and serial numbers.

  • Cookies/Tracking: We use mobile identifiers (like IDFA for iOS or AAID for Android) to remember your preferences and analyze app performance.


2. Sophisticated Data Usage

Beyond simple trip matching, Wayn uses your data for:

  • Predictive Dispatch: Analyzing historical patterns to suggest "hot zones" for drivers and lower wait times for riders.

  • Safety Features: "Share My Trip" functionality, SOS button integration, and automated "In-App" checks if a vehicle stays stationary for too long.

  • Fraud Prevention: Identifying suspicious login attempts or fraudulent payment methods.

  • Automated Decision Making: We may use algorithms to determine driver ratings and account deactivations based on safety violations or low acceptance rates.


3. Strategic Data Sharing

Wayn shares data only when necessary:

  • The Marketplace Connection: Once a ride is accepted, the Driver sees the Rider’s pickup point and name. The Rider sees the Driver’s photo, vehicle make/model, license plate, and real-time location.

  • Emergency Services: In the event of an accident, we may share location and user details with police or medical responders.

  • Insurance Partners: For claims processing related to accidents occurring during a Wayn trip.

  • Business Partners: If you use a corporate account, your employer may receive trip details (date, time, and cost).


4. Data Governance & Security

  • Data Minimization: We strive to collect only the data necessary for the service.

  • Encryption: All data in transit is encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS).

  • Access Control: Only authorized Wayn employees with a "need-to-know" can access PII (Personally Identifiable Information).


5. Regional Compliance (e.g., GDPR/CCPA)

  • Right to Portability: You can request a digital file of your trip history.

  • Right to be Forgotten: You may request account deletion. Note that we may retain certain info (like trip receipts) for legal, tax, or safety reasons for a period defined by law.


6. Changes to this Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. If we make significant changes (e.g., a new way we use location data), we will notify you through the Wayn app or via email.
